It is glossy, something I personally dislike (despise), but otherwise good. I recommend http://www.ebay.com/itm/Perfect-Pixel-FREE-EXPRESS-X-STAR-DP2710LED-27-2560x1440-Samsung-PLS-Matte-/321135502506?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item4ac52ae4aa A bit more if you want to go for pixel-perfect, which just means inspected to make sure there are no dead pixels, but you can go normal for around $300 i think.

Edit $280 actually http://www.ebay.com/itm/Matte-FREE-EXPRESS-X-STAR-DP2710LED-27-2560x1440-Samsung-PLS-Panel-Monitor-/330932578190?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item4d0d1e678e

matte is more of an issue as the covers that go across the the LED display to protect it usually distort colors compared to glossy. Not only that, glossy will inherently look sharper, as they blend the pixels together. You choice though

Personally I have had the chance to compare them 1 by 1 and while in theory it should do that, I saw no change. I had to use glossy for a while, couldnt even really make out of a lot of my screen without blacking out my room. Just personal preference.

The Qnix and X-Star have the same body, but the X-Star's buttons on the monitor for brightness work, and the Qnix's one does not, at lease from Kyle's video. I own a X-Star and it has been fantastic.

This is more or less the difference. But damn the reflections on glossy drive me crazy. (Mostly cause I'm ugly though)

The anti glare coating on the matte Qnix is a light coating. And the buttons work on the Qnix as I have had one since April with zero issues. There is no real difference between the Xstar and Qnix except the stand arm comes off a little easier on the Xstar.

Go look at the Xstar Qnix official club and you will see there is no difference.I know guys who got a Qnix in a Xstar box lol..

Its absolutely amazing, Asus' monitor with the same panel would cost 2x as much as the Qnix/X-star does. Im running this screen at 96Hz, i can run it at 120Hz but there is some color shifting. About 40% of these monitors can reach 120Hz and almost all can reach 96Hz according to overclock.net.

Backlight bleeding is not rare with these monitors, but its fixable and almost all IPS panels have BLB/IPS glow, but how serious its is differs from monitor to monitor.

Mine was in perfect condition. Bought the pixel perfect matte version.

I have the Qnix matte and those buttons work for me perfectly. By the way, did you even watch the video about the Qnix? :D Kyle had an annotation saying that he was wrong about the buttons.

Not it wasnt. He didnt know that there is no OSD(On-screen display) so he thought that those buttons didnt work, even though they did. He did put up an annotation on part of the video, check it up.

The Qnix and X-Star are the exact same monitors, aside from the logo.  They are insanely good values.
