Issues with video card overheating, SLi setup. Please help!

SirChadimus
Go to solution Solved by Kayn,

clean up your cable management and get more intakes.

I'm having an issue with the top card in my SLi setup overheating. At load, my top card hits 90c-95c depending on the game. The bottom card stays 75c-80c. At idle both cards sit around 37c-40c.

My card hits that 90c-95c mark even with the fans at 100%. When running MSI Kombustor to stress the cards, I hit over 100c on the top card and 90c on bottom card.

I'm using MSI 560 Ti's with the Twin Frozr II cooler. They are at stock voltages/speeds.

I'm using MSI Afterburner to monitor temperatures.

Things I've already done:

Cleaned out the case of dust using compressed air.

Reapplied thermal paste to both video cards using linus's guide posted online.

My case is an Cooler Master 690 II Advanced Nvidia Edition:

I have a front fan pulling air in.

I have a rear fan blowing air out

I have a top fan blowing air out.

I've included some pictures of my case setup. Please help! :S

My full system specs are:

Wow, cable management much?  Tidy up a bit and you should have more airflow.

Hmm, I run alot of cables through the back panel, I didn't think it could be cleaned up much more but I'm pretty inexperienced at all this... Those 2 large cables overtop of the cards, are those okay? I couldn't see any other way to run them...

Also, how do I get more intake? The only intake fan is the front which is kinda blocked by the drive bays....

Make the rear exhaust turn into an intake.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

you can put another fan at the bottom of the case.

Wow, massive improvement, thanks everyone.

I removed the bottom part of the hard drive bays that were unused to allow better airflow from the front intake fan.

I added another top exhaust fan

I also cleaned up the cables using cable ties.

My temps at load went from 90-100c to 60-70c.

Massive improvement, thanks!
