What laptop should I get guys?

flamer7

you need some 1 who was in ur position before to answer u, and it happen to be me :P

i have a Clevo P370EM laptop with i7 3740QM, GTX 680M, SSD and HDD with 17" screen, the best hardware u could find for a gaming laptop " excluding the new generation hardware but still i mean mine is very high end" , anyway i thought about geting a laptop since i needed a laptop for university and i play alot at home so thought maybe just get a gaming laptop and its okie then i found out my decision wasnt quite good, laptops are very costy like a gtx 780M is $ 700-800 while desktop 780 cost about $ 550 and way better preformance. now u maybe think its okie to lose some preformance while u can move ur system " my laptop weight 4kg" but what u dont see in laptop specs is that they all run the gpu on PCIe 3.0 @ x8 which will cut from its preformance, same goes for RAM it will not run on its 100%.

so u are better off with a gaming desktop and any laptop that is just good enough for ur study, u wont regret it, u can change any part in ur desktop later more freely than laptops.

sorry for the long post but trying to help u :D

  • 5 months later...

If you live in asia then another very important aspect you overlook is availability of aftersales service.. look into that because its crucial to have good aftersales servuce for a laptop.. this is not gonna be like a regular desktop thing that you can DIY
