My R9 290 after H55 and G10 install.

you will need to run the Extreme HD preset please, as running it windowed like that gets you a few extra points

My score still seems low compared to similar clocks though......actually not by much according to the spread sheet

Edit: Going to try and squeeze a bit more out but i am almost certain i have hit the wall. Im still pleased with this card though. =)

try giving your memory a bump, valley likes fast memory. That's why some of the other 760's beat mine.

you're at the bottom of a big group of amd 290/290x's. like lord pantaloons said you need to overclock the memory for valley

what are the clock speeds of the card.

Stock speeds for now

Stock 1006Mhz,

Boost 1072Mhz (which boost to 1137Mhz).

Running it under a Kraken G10 with a Kraken x60 attached, so I'm going to try overclocking the card a bit, just have to watch the VRM temps due to the Kraken's cooling.

Get the Gelid enhancement kit from newegg. Dropped my VRM by 15c.

Sold off the 3 GTX 770's and got 2 780 TI cards in SLI. Not much of an improvement, but at least I have 3 GB VRAM for 3440x1440p now. I will miss the 770s, they were awesome and gave me no problems. I hope these will be the same!

get some vrm heat sinks sorted, so you can make use of the G10 and G60 watercooled gpu's usually overclock really well. i'll add the clocks in tomorrow.

you have a vram and power consumption improvement as well. have you tried running valley at 2560X1440? i have a sheet for that. the settings to use is everything maxed out apart from 3d obviously and full screen. it will give you extra vram a good workout. ;)

The ROG Matrix already has a VRM heatsink on it, but due to the card being wider than a standard GTX780ti (its as wide as a classified), those kits won't fit.

I will admit the max VRM temp I've seen is 83c (with the stock ROG cooler it would hit 100c), but now Summer is here, I can have the air con on (which it right above me).

RAD placement is also an issue, I have the GPU RAD at the bottom of my Enthoo Primo as an intake, so a lot of that warmer air is hitting the card, and I can't put it at the top because the H110 RAD is there..lol..

After some fine tuning.........i disabled all background apps and installed 14.8 beta driver.......I'm happy with this score. I think i was throttling a little during the day.  I tried some more tweaking but i get diminishing returns =(

This seems to be the sweet spot for me. If i raise clocks performance decreases.
