Would you look at that. put my cpu from 3.9 to 4.2 and scored a 3695. Still a nowhere near 4400 but we'll see how far we can get this. Every .1mhz seems to be ~30ish points

thats a big difference. if you went up to 4.6ghz and around 1200 on the gpu core you would score much higher.

yes, your cpu will be holding you back now. you could always try a bit of a base clock. you might get an extra 100-200mhz out the cpu which could get you closer to 3000.

Yah my poor little 7970s wont go any higher though (in crossfire, solo one of the cards will go to about 1150) without a modded bios and i'm far to lazy to do any of that (specially since i've got a g1 arriving monday :3 )

 

I can get the memory to 1700+ but it seems to net me lower scores instead of higher at that point

yeha the higher memory speed won't be used if you cant get the cores higher. you should do a run with your fastest single card as well. at 1150/1700 you should get over 2000.

I have another system with a 2500k in it thats at 4.5ghz... i could always switch motherboards. I don't know if its worth it though.

Or winter to come around. But yeah, it throws the biggest fit after 2081MHz on the memory and 1560MHz on the core once it touches 58C. 57C is a little artifacted, but 58C is the fucking 4th of July all over again. Too bad I don't really have any plans for water or a unlocked cpu cause $$

MPowers are good but are becoming hard to find. Maximus V Gene is MATX, but I would still get a Maximus IV Extreme as they are around the same price.

I think the sabertooth is better than the extreme 4. I think its equivalent to an extreme 6. The up7>maximus v formula>empower>as rock oc formula for overclocking in my opionion.
