Can dual monitors with different resolutions be mirrored at their native resolutions?

The title says it all except that the second "monitor" is a television. I want to mirror my 1920x1080 display with my 720 television so I can watch movies and more "console" like games on my TV and work/play fps on my display.  I would like them to both be in their native resolutions, though.  Anyone know how I could do this without spending a ton on some software?

Thanks

I have a 1600x900 monitor as primary, when I use my TV (1080p) as a dual, it is shown as 900p. Might give you a general idea.

No, they will all run at the lowest resolution.

so only if you extend you can have different resolutions?

If you duplicate the screens, they'll run at the lower resolution. However, you should be able to use Windows key+p and select "extend", you should be able to set custom resolutions on each screen and use them independently.

I will work but you will be limited to the resolution of the lower res monitor.

To all that think that it will run at the lowest resolution, they can be either 1080 or 720, not both. My problem is that I want to duplicate them (the cursor and windows on both screens) and run independent resolutions. Task bar, windows, and cursor on both screens but the TV is set to 720 and the monitor is set to 1080. That way, the desktop experience isn't hindered on either screen. Any thoughts?
