Anthrax 7.0 - Mostly Whoosh With A Bit Of Sploosh

TDctUWa.png

Before I start I should mention that I have been contemplating and planning this build for some time now. Due to a turn of events that caused me to rip apart my PC this projects has been pushed forward. Most of the work shown is just some pics I took along the way and no pictures have been taken specifically for this thread/build log. Please note that the updates may be out of order since im putting things together as I get them and have the time.

If there is something you want to know about the build or something you think I should add in the log please let me know. I will read all input and answer all questions as best I can, your input is appreciated!

This is what I found after I came back to check on a PC that I popped the Dominator Platinum into to check to make sure the ram was good for when all the parts all finally got here:

Update: 003

===========

I lightly modded a pair of 80mm fans into the back side of my Corsair 540 Air. These to me were important to add due to the HDDs that will be in a hot swap in the 5.25 bays.

I think they turned out rather well, let me know what you all think.

Update: 004

===========

Here are 3 of my Noctua NF-F12 PWMs attached to my Swiftech H320 before a test fit. The other 3 fans to go on the other side are sitting on the chair behind it along with their gaskets and grills. If you can see the fan cable to molex with the yellow cable dangling off, that is there to power the pump directly off the PSU but still let my motherboard monitor it in case it conks out or something for some reason.

Nice pics!

what camera + lens?

Thanks they're kinda just random and mostly me trying to get halfway decent angles where the light does mess the it up. Which is harder than it sounds considering the mess the room is in with all the stuff coming in and going out lately.

Im using a Canon T3i/600D and the 40mm Pancake which is the only lense I have currently besides the kit lense but its been serving me well.

Update: 005

===========

Here is a picture I took of a mock up that I did as i was trying to figure out placement of fans and airflow direction. I actually have a thread about it specifically that I just made Mostly Whoosh With A Bit Of Sploosh: A Big Airflow Decision.

IMG_6089.jpg

If you dont want to head over there I think it really comes down to what is worse drawing the little bit of air the GPUs do have away them or blower warm to possibly hot air at them?

Lol, Im working on it. I can only take pics of what I have done so far, as parts come in (in this case back from RMA in some cases) and I am able to proceed further along.

As for the camera and lens question I already answered that 3 posts above your post.

love the case! having picture heavy in the title at this point is a bit silly dont you think? at the moment theres like 10 pictures, may be losing you some thread views

As soon as i have a bit more time itll be quite picture heavy but I can remove it for now.

If you're done with the build, how well did the H320 due? Is it worth getting? I have the H220 and was looking into the 320 but not sure if it's worth it. P.S. I'm getting either a 8320/8350, or saving for just a 4930K here soon.

im barely started parts are stll showing up and the replacement motherboard doesnt come until tues so im mostly doing all the prep I can currently but I imagine youll get some what of the same benefit you do when you go from say a H80 to H100 though I doubt idle temps will drop much if any. Its load temps im worried about anyway.

I actually had the H220 lined up for this build when it was going to happen in another case but that has since had to change so I got the H320 as its better and is a better fit for the case for the most part.

Well thank you, get back to me when the whole set up is done or do a benchmark thread on it! I'd love to see how well it does on a high end platform.

Definitely looks interesting, I generally prefer using Noctua's when they're hidden but that's just me. Looking forward for more pictures

I actually like them because their not boring or flashy also they go fairly well with ASUS's TUF line. Hopefully ill get some progress pics today but I once again cant proceed much further because I ran into some hiccups.
