If you're talking about the EVGA SuperNOVA NEX650, the manufacturer is FSP (Fortron Source Power)

They're usually described as average to slightly above average units. Nothing special but nothing amazing.

If it's at a decent price then it should be ok.

Otherwise look at some by Corsair, Seasonic, Antec or Silverstone. There are other good "brands" but I'd suggest looking up their manufacturers first.

Whether they are worth it, depends on the model. Old ones are terrible priced and terrible working. The new ones (some SuperNova or something series?) I heard that are quite nice but you need to read review of specific model.

It's always like that, for example Corsair has worst shit amongst his offerings as well as top notch HX series from 850 up (but not the HX 650, it's garbage for the price). But CX series is totally useless, except for CX 750 which is built of different core and actually works well. etc.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

CPU: Phenom II x6 1045t ][ GPU: GeForce 9600GT 512mb DDR3 ][ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P ][ RAM: 2x4GB Kingston 1333MHz CL9 DDR3 ][ HDD: Western Digital Green 2TB ][ PSU: Chieftec 500AB A ][ Case: No-name without airflow or dust filters Budget saved for an upgrade so far: 2400PLN (600€) - Initial 2800PLN (700€) Upgraded already: CPU

Watch the language there.

The specific unit you are looking at, the NEX650G, is based of the FSP Aurum platform. It's a low cost platform that has very good efficiency; however, offer rather mediocre performance due to it being a group regulated design. It's not a bad power supply, but unless you get a good deal off of it, you should be able to get something better for the price.

EVGA have not made a single one of their power supplies themselves.

500b = HEC / Compucase. Based on the same platform as the Be Quiet PurePower L8 500w

NEX650B =  FSP Raider

NEX650/750G =  FSP Aurum Gold

Supernova 1000/1300 G2 / P2 = Super Flower Leadex

SuperNova NEX1500 = Etasis

Classified SR-2 1200w = Enhanced Electronics. Based on the same platform as the Antec TruePower Quattro TPQ-1200w
