Steam won't launch some games

Dudenstein

My steam seems to not be able to launch some games. I would click play and it would prepare to launch and turn my icon green but then it just stops, my icon turns back to the default blue, and no error message comes up. The games that won't launch are the following:

Tomb Raider (2013)
Splinter Cell Conviction
Deus Ex Human Revolution
Deadlight
Bioshock 2
Far Cry Blood Dragon

There may be more but I haven't installed my backlog of games.

I have verified the game cache, uninstalled and reinstalled the games, uninstalled steam and reinstalled steam. Those attempts have not worked.

My drivers are updated and my OS is windows 7 64 bit. The specs of my computer are in my sig.

Any feedback regarding this issue would be splendid

**edit; Civ V also doesn't launch like those games listed above

Have you tried launching the games .exe directly from the directory insted of through Steam? You can also try and run Steam as administrator and verifie the cache. That sometime help.

Try disabling Steam Community in-game. That has caused problems for me, but nothing of this caliber

Edit: You can also try and run the third-part executables in the games directories. Things like DirectX, DotNet, Physx ect. Sometimes Steam has problems running these, so it might help.

Run steam as Admin (IDK if that'll help).

Make sure you have proper drivers installed like DirectX11 and stuff I think.

Alright so I gotta add Civ V to the games that wont launch. I've tried all of the things that were suggested above and I have made sure my Windows, Directx, and Vdist, GPU drivers are all up to date
