Difference between these CPU's

The Intel Xeon X5472 (3.0GHz) runs at 1600MHz while the Intel Xeon X5450 (3.0GHz) runs at 1333MHz. They are both around $20. I'm looking to build two dual xeon render bugs for rendering in Maya, C4D, and AE. My single 3770K isn't cutting it.

What is the difference between the 1600MHz and 1333MHz? Will either affect my overall performance? Thanks in advance!

I think it's about supported RAM speed. 1600mhz is going to better but also look out for CAS Latency which would rather have much bigger affect on performance rather than bus speed.

Well, kinda. its FSB speed, which dictates how much use you can get out of your ram. a 1333mhz bus can only process that fast, so using 1600mhz ram would be a waste as it would only effectivly work at 1333.

I only know that with gaming, 1600 is a slight increase. Can't say about workload type secenarios, but I would choose depending on what ram you are going with.
