Disabled Nvidia sound driver and PC no longer recognizes certain audio devices

Roofiedkoalas

Ok so I had conflicting sound drivers so I disabled the Nvidia driver and kept the Realtek driver, my headphones are still registered as an audio device and work fine, unfortunately, my speakers and TV speakers are no longer registered, not even under 'disconnected' devices, any ideas on how to get them up and running again? Thanks.

Reinstall the driver... Its basically the communicator between your hardware and software, no wonder theyre not being recognized :/

Wait, you said your speakers and tv speakers. Isn't your tv plugged into your graphics card through HDMI? You need the audio drivers for that. Are your speakers plugged into your TV or directly to the motherboard?

What was conflicting before?

I reinstalled the driver just now, no change, sadly. And yeah TV is plugged into GPU HDMI, but speakers are straight into the mobo and still isn't being recognized

LOL you have to have both enabled. What happens when you have both enabled?

enabled HDMI audio, and rear 3.5 gets disabled. Put priority on 3.5 rear, and HDMI gets borked.

If you want to have both, you will need to create a new playback device that utilizes both HDMI output and 3.5mm rear output.
