Add ethernet port in wall?

ThatGreg

Is there a way to add an ethernet port into my wall?

I have a few all around my home, but not in my room unfortunately. Although I do have a phone input (not sure what you call it), im wondering if i can switch out the ports, or do i have to do a lot of different wiring

Maybe just run a long cable from the nearest ethernet port outlet?

I also have a question for this type of situation, if the home is large enough, would it be a good idea to call a networker in case if the signal starts to fade after a certain range?

it requires new wiring

it will cost a lot to get the installation done, plus they will have to rip up your wall

just buy a cheap long ethernet cable yourself and run it along the bottom of the wall or ceiling corner

It's not as hard as a lot of people are claiming. It's more of a pain in the ass to rip up drywall, pin all the wiring, put in a box, wire it in, etc, etc.
