Controller: 360 vs One

Gdourado

Hello, how are you?

I am wondering what is the better controller to use on pc.

The Xbox 360 or the Xbox One?

I know the one is the newer one, but is it better?

Which do you prefer and why?

Also, wired or wireless? Do wireless models introduce lag?

Cheers

X one has a better D-pad

If you want X one wireless for PC you will have to pay like 50 dollars extra, i would go for wiered

the 360 controller is much cheaper, and i think the PC wireless adapter is cheaper as well

You will probably not notice it, but wireless controllers does increase input lag

The one controller is newer, but it all comes down to preference. I enjoy the 360 more because of its shape. I'd say go for a wired so you don't have to worry about a wireless adapter/input lag. There is a tiny amount.

Some people (scrubs, like me) can neither afford nor have the space for throttles, joysticks, wheels, pedals and shifters.

I would say joystick for a flight sim is essential, controllers have too few buttons for most simulators, but, controllers have thier purpose, and are best when couch gaming, which you cant really do with racing weels and joysticks

Had both of them. Honestly the xbox one controller is better, but in my opinion not worth the price. Plus the wired xbox one controller uses micro usb (which broke within a week for me) I would go with the cheapest of them.

between a wired 360 controller vs the one controller it is more up to you, the wired 360 controller is a little cheaper, both have a very similar feel to me, for wireless the official adapters for 360 controllers are a bit more but there are 3rd party ones that work fine ( what i've heard) the official xb1 adapter is 20$ and only works with windows 10.

My suggestion would be a wired 360 controller.

I'd go for the X360 wired controller. You can usually find them for 30USD, on sale they're around 20USD. I've tried the Xbone controller, but it's too rigid for my hands so the X360 wins for me.

I think ds4 is best on PC. I would pick the Xbone if it had it's own drivers and not using the 360 drivers. I don't know fully, but it's something to do with the center point of the axis on one of the sticks being different to the 360. In some games the camara would just keep spinning.

i prefer 360, triggers feel a lot nicer and more tactile, and the One's controller i found a lot heavier. I wasn't happy with the feel like i was 360. :)

Xbox 360. Same reason as above, or Steam Controller if you want more "features".

I've got both the 360 wired and the wireless Xbox One controller, the Xbox One controller is definitely better imo. If you use a controller enough and can justify paying double the amount of the 360 wired controller then go for it. The XBOne controller is better in pretty much every way possible.

Dualshock 4. You get wireless connectivity for cheaper (and it doesn't lock you into Windows 10), and a pad with extra functionality. And a significantly better D-pad.

I own both and I think the 360 is slightly better. They both feel great in hand, but the RT/LT buttons on the XBONE one feel weird and I still haven't got used to them (been using one for a few months now instead of the 360 one). If you use the D-Pad a lot (can't imagine why you would) go for the XBONE controller. Also, the joysticks (I guess that's what they're called?) have a better grip on the XBONE one, although they still feel small to the touch. As far as build quality goes, I slammed both of them and they're intact (except a white scratch mark cause I hit the wall with one of them).

For anything other than first person shooters and flight sims, they're much better.
