Will an i5-4690k bottleneck with a 980ti?

Go to solution Solved by jaffacakes,

I want  to get a 980ti, but i'm not sure if my processor will cope. Specs below :)

.

No. It's a good CPU, and it's pretty far from bottlenecking it.

Only if a game pushes 100% across all cores would it struggle with any high-tiered GPU.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I would just make sure it is overclocked! But It shouldn't bottleneck it

Not even close, man.

Most i5s are pretty advanced enough that they won't cause a computer to struggle with handling a GPU properly.
