GPU Folding with R7 260x

Hey guys,

So I've built a system from parts I was given/had laying around, and decided to host game servers for my friends. It doesn't actually host that often, so I'm going to fold with it! It's been CPU folding just fine for hours, but the GPU just says "failed". I've linked an album with all the (I think) relevant screenshots from the client. OS is Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

The only thing that looks wrong to me is that it correctly identifies the GPU as "R7 200 Series", but calls it Hawaii, when it really is Bonaire XTX. It also didn't just say "Failed" instantly, when I started it the client just said "Ready", and then when I checked in later it said "Failed", and the Work Unit disappeared from the Work Queue. I did try pausing and restarting GPU folding, and included the log from that. And note, the Phenom II X4 B65 is what a Phenom II X2 565 is called when the other cores are unlocked.

Any help is much appreciated!

If it's the new Ubuntu that might be why.  15.whatever hates AMD drivers and parts.  I had to roll back to 14 to get any functionality, but I'm folding on a different rig with semi-similar specs.

Wouldn't think so, I have 14.04 LTS (should have specified). Thanks anyway!

There is a very similar thread right below yours. The conclusion being that folding in linux

is limited to nvidia as of right now, as far as conventional knowledge goes.

Quote from the folding site.

Folding on AMD GPUs is problematic in linux due to poor OpenCL driver suppport from AMD.

Sorry to disappoint :(
