Will this psu will be ok with this gpu?

Hey folks,

will this psu:

will be ok with this gpu:

since it says there that it needs 600w, do i need to jump to this psu?:

and i plan to OC GPU and The CPU if you are wondering, my rig is on my sig

NVidia's site calls for a minimum 500w power requirement for GTX970 you should be fine

You could technically run it with less than 500 watts but stick with that psu as is is good quality and fits your needs (aka yes it's fine)

 

Edit: That 970 has 2  8 pin slots......wow Gigabyte wasn't kidding when they said xtreme

NVIDIA say you do need 600W if the PSU is poor quality. Since that EVGA is a fantastic quality 550W is more than enough, even for overclocks. Hell, I used to have a GTX 960 (very similar card) running on a 350W PSU just fine. Still works, repurposed for my dad's workstation.

that psu is high quality. they say 600w for low quality units..
