kakhat

I want to ask you guys what's the difference between those two and their performance

The 6700 is locked meaning you CANNOT overclock it. It is also clocked lower than the k version.

That's all you need to know. It's a beast.

The difference is that one can overclock and one cannot.

That will not be very noticeable, depending on how much you can OC the K version.

All K series processors are fully unlocked, allowing overclocking. Otherwise they are mostly the same.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

6700 is clocked lower and is locked.

Lock and unclocked for over clocking..... troll tread?

Just because some people don't know these things and might be new to the tech scene doesn't mean they're trolling.

one's overclockable (6700k) and the other is locked to default clock speeds (6700). If the 6700k isn't OCed then the performance would be basically the same (if both are running at the same clock speeds even though out of the box, the boost clock of the 6700k is already 200mhz lower

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

You can overclock the K version, but it doesn't come with a heatsink.
