I can't remember the model because I last saw them at least 7 years ago, but I had this Sony headset with a volume control wheel for each side, and so far that's been the only pair of headphones that I've had where my Apple earpods can't compete with it.

Hard to say since I forget over time. My Sennheiser RS 220s are up there, though I'm sure at some point I've heard something better.

Probably the Audeze LCD-2. But I tried them at a trade show, so the enviroment wasn't the best for open headphones.

My Shure SE846s sound amazing aswell.

I like the he1000 quite a bit, but for the price it's not a huge upgrade from what I already have. If it ever gets below $2k, then instant buy or if the heX is 90% similar I'd go for that.

I am rather impressed by my Shure's, but for some songs they are great for others they just sound bland and washed out, but for the most part they are good, i may consider buying an Amp.

My Sennheiser G4ME Zero's. They blow the 10 Turtle beach headsets and 1 astro a40 headset out of the water, oh yea and the razer kraken 7.1, even though these aren't 7.1 (or 5.1) they are still 50x better.

Mine would be the Shure SE215 / Modded with FiiO cabling and comply eartips.

Putting a new cable on something with removable cables doesn't really count as a mod [emoji14]

For me, probably a pair of lambda series STAX. that being said, I only listened for about 20 seconds, but I was seriously impressed.

Yea i previously would have said that, if not for the cable altering the experience greatly :D

It has improved the bass which the clear SE215 lacks and provides a clean channel.

Basically i can hear flaws in music now.

I don't believe you. But this is also not the place to debate whether or not cables actually alter sound in any great way (hint: they don't.) also, if anything were to make a difference, it would hardly be a copper cabled fiio that is made out of essentially the same metal as the Shures.

Regardless, it's still not a mod. Calling a cable change a mod is like calling a change in your desktop background a mod, and it's just well... Not...

It is really up to you to believe me.

I can dare say i swapped the cables around just to double check if there is something lose in my head.

The term mod means modification.

It literally means changing a component.

Or hence to modify. (Change)

I can use it as loosely as i want and you should not be able to correct me.

Also plenty people have said that the sound changes, but not to any extent was mentioned.

They used cables ranging from the UE, and (i forgot the brand name) cables.

FiiO was the worst choice among them. And yet still i percieved a change.

Was a cable swap really necessary to verify that?

Best would be Sennheiser HD800 with the HD650 with the Cardas cable taking second place.
