Worth starting WoW?

yannickverc

So I have some friends who play WoW and I've had this "urge" to play the game. (It's not really an urge, but that feeling you have when everyone around you talks about it and you wanna check it out)

But is it even worth playing the game now?

It is an amazing game, but as others have said, prepare to spend hours and hours, and eventually yelling at everyone who stands in fires.

You're like 10 years late to the party. lol.

Also one of the reasons why I haven't actually started yet. I can't get anywhere in the game unless I devote a full year of endlessly playing this game

not really worth it imo, you missed vanilla and BC which were the two best patches they had,,, its gone pretty far down hill from there, myself and everyone i know dont even play it anymore...

but, if you have friends that play it, and seem like they will be playing it for a while longer, it is always fun to play with friends...

No Excuses, Play Like A Champion!!!

No.  It is a shadow of its former self.  If you truly wish to play it, then find a private server that is either Vanilla or TBC.  Lich is alright, but it all started going downhill right after it.

As someone who's played on and off since beta, no. The game hit its peak in WotLK and it's been utter shit ever since. That, and the fact it's a major time sink.

It's really a nobrainer when you think about. WOTLK was a pinnacle of their story, wich actually made sense. Everyone was waiting for it even tho they didn't wanted it to end.

To the OP. You can still enjoy vanilla/wotlk on private servers wich are quite stable now. One of the best priv servers i was playing(not so long ago) is molten-wow. etc look it up on google. They have 2 types: WOTLK and CATACLYSM.

I stopped only because i wanted to play other games. Shit is addictive, especially if you like the lore.

Nah as a veteran player, I couldn't recommend that game to anyone. I wasted countless hours and money playing that game to the point where it became like a job. The game doesn't have any goal or eventual end to it, you'll just be trying to get gear and gold for the entirety of the game till a new DLC comes.

I was an active player from Vanilla -> Burning Crusade -> WOTLK -> Cataclysm

When a hobby feels like work it isn't a hobby anymore. I know the feeling xD

Dailies, Battlegrounds, Weekly raids.. Bleh

The thing that killed it for me the most was that monks were OP as fuck in arenas..
