sanderlawrence

Guys, I am planning on buying both games. I am not really good with rpg games but I am starting to like them. Which game would me me like rpg games and which game should i play first?

Fallout is a game that you can play in a lot of ways... Playing both would take a while.

Witcher is more of a story linked game.

You decide if you like post apocalypse or a fantasy sort of world. I prefer Fallout.

System: Thinkpad T460

Witcher 3 is by far the better game, and has way more content, but both are good. I'd only recommend fallout first if you really like shooters.

Having played Skyrim, Fallout: New Vegas and currently playing through the Witcher 3, I prefer the Fallout/Elder Scrolls approach to roll-play. The Witcher game play is heavily tied to the narrative, with the main quest-line looming large at all times; at times it feels like an endless series of cutscenes strung together by brief periods of travel and combat.

In Skyrim, it's pretty easy to ignore the main questline; you can complete nearly every side quest without fighting a single dragon or using any shouts. In the Witcher 3, it's hard to escape the whole Wild Hunt/Ciri plot, which is Geralt's main motivation throughout the story. Many side-quests and interactions are locked until you advance the main story. And of course, you're forced to play as the eponymous Witcher, which closes off a whole avenue of roll-play.

None of these are bad things about the Witcher games, but I prefer them less to the Bethesda/Obsidian way of doing things. Saying one game or the other is better is purely subjective.

I'd still have to choose Witcher 3 after playing ALOT of F4 but.... I can see why F4 has more replay value. The base building alone is so time consuming because of the resources gathering unless you cheat.... even still.... you must build the town up and that takes time.

TW3 has better GFX though as came out sooner and runs on gamepads better probably because of the 3rd person views.

Isn't The Witcher 3 on 50% sale right now on Steam?

Yup, but there may be a bigger sale during the winter sale.

Fallout is kinda like Minecraft, building sh%$ and getting weapons, it has some RPG elements, but mainly shooter..

Witcher 3 is more balanced, has realism, and just quality, both good, think in just different ways

I liked witcher 3. I love Fallout.

I really enjoy the crafting. V.A.T.S. is fun. I dunno, I can't really put a finger on it.

Don't get me wrong though, witcher 3 is definitely a game you should play as well.

I never played any of the Witcher games and I loved 3. They even said they made it from the perspective that you could start at 3 and not be entirely lost.
