Why cant I get 60fps on fallout 4? (4k)

I run a 5820k two Gtx 980's and 16gb of ram I can run every game at 4k 60fps maxed out without AA but for some reason I am only getting 30-50 on fallout 4 does anyone know of any settings I should shut off or turn down?

Are you running High or Ultimate? Remember that every game is different, and some may have a harder time running at 60 FPS with all of the settings maxed out.

sli isn't even working atm with fo4, you have to use max payne bits to get it working somewhat properly

SLI & Crossfire (from what I hear) Is shit on Fallout 4 atm.

Fallouts weird.

For me, at less than max settings @1080p, I dip below 60 sometimes

Do you get super laggy when like for eg if you look in a certain direction? We have similar gpu (tri-x 290x) and i get laggy when i do that at 1080p ultra

Enable SLI manually in the nvidia control panel

The game is horribly optimized and doesn't play well with dual graphics cards, just like every Beth game.
 

Turn off motion blur and minimize god rays to maybe medium.
