Old tv cant see bios?

Tmt97

So ive been having a lot of problems with what i thought was my motherboard today. As it turns out its the TV i had it plugged into. It kept starting up but then bios would dissapear after two seconds and if i hit any keys like f12 or delete it just dissapeared instantly. After having tried everything i found out without changing any other hardware that when i tried someone elses newer tv it worked. So do older TVs just not like bios or something? I even connected two other computers and they both worked fine with it. What can i do to get my tv to work? I really dont have the money to go buy a new moniter.

What display connection are you using to hook up the moniters vs the tv.

They are both tvs, the difference is that one is newer and actually loads bios.

I used the same cable for each, a DVI to HDMi converter cable.
