Ugh. Drivers. Again. Help!

I had some process for getting my firewire card working. Wish I could remember how. Have you tried installing drivers from device manager? When it asks for file to install, select one you've downloaded.

that's kinda what I did. I ended up finding another way to do it. I mounted a wireless router inside the PC and used it as a wireless bridge

Look, I know this card is SUPER outdated, but if I can get the damn thing to work, it will work perfectly fine for the task.

 

I have a Linksys WMP54G version 4, and I cannot find the drivers anywhere. I have tried the ralink drivers (because it uses a ralink chip) and windows says "the device cannot start, error code 10"

 

I have used this card in the past with windows 7 64 bit. I am trying to use it with windows vista 64 bit now.

 

Why cant I get it to work?

 

I got the ralink drivers from mediafire, because it appears that ralink's website is no longer. http://www.ralinktech.com/

 

Linksys page does not load: http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-ca/support/adapters/WMP54G/download

 

Waybackmachine finds the page though...

 

What do? This is literally the only wireless solution I have, as two of the PCs in the house are already using my spare routers as wireless bridges. This card is for a folding rig. When I was trying to get linux to fold, the wireless adapter worked right away.

 

But with windows vista business, no luck.

 

Any ideas, other than to scrap a wireless card designed for use 10 years ago?
