How to Protect Word Document from being Viewed?

This week in English we will have to hand in a Word document including a short story, by uploading it to the school server from home.

 

The problem here is that anyone can download our files and view them, copy them or even edit them and re-upload them to make it look as if we didn't do the work.

 

My idea is to upload it as late as possible to prevent others from seeing it, but people who upload later than me might still be able to.

 

Anyway to encrypt, view protect or do anything similar to my document, where if someone who will download it will either only see hieroglyphs or a blank screen or whatevs, but if the teacher asks me I can fix it?

I have already downloaded someone else's, and although it's really bad, I am not going to even speak about it but other people might not be so nice

You can give them a password.

Or make it a PDF.

Can set a password in the document to either or both view and edit file. Password for view and edit can be different and I think it even shows you any changes someone tries to make with it.
