Sennheiser Game Zero Problems

I bought the Senn's Game Zero and the Fiio E10k amp/dac but my microphone does not work. I either need to return or refund it.. I was wondering if I ended up getting a new one with a working MIC, do you think I could just plug the mic cord right into my computer and then the audio cord into my amp/dac? I tried doing this with my laptop mic and amp/dac on CSGO but it would only use the amp as a device and would ignore my laptop, wouldn't even let me choose to use my laptop mic.. Do you think if the headset mic worked that this would change? Would it work in general?

I have a problem (probably because im using it on mac) but i have a splitter, if i plug it in it never pics it up, so as soon as i plug it in i have to blow in my mic for like 5 seconds (not stopping and as loud as you can) and it will pick it up and change the settings, otherwise it won't even notice it's there. Apart from the external volume. Not sure if this will fix your problem but well worth a shot.
