Why does the HAF X still sell so well at a high price going into 2016?

KarateHottie93

It's interesting to me. When I got mine through Newegg I got it on my friend's discount and only had to pay about $130 total. He was telling me about how it's consistently been a top seller seller in the high end full towers since it launched. That parts pretty obvious though if you look at the reviews. It still gets new reviews as often as any other newer case.

I know a lot of people here don't like the HAF X though and think lack of modular drive bays makes a case extremely outdated.

If most people don't like the HAF X, why is it still a top seller at a higher price than something like the Luxe? Why is it still getting countless five star reviews after being out for over half a decade? Why does it still sell well enough for them to still advertise it more than any other full tower?

Do people just think it looks cool? Is it all the advertising? Do people just trust it cause it's got a five star rating with 1400 reviews?

Everything except decent price I can see lol. It's great and has all the must features for almost any type of build. Anything is possible in it as long as you know a few tricks. Still though, it's usually $169 for a case from 2010 lol.

Better than a shitty case from 2010-2015 that's overpriced to that amount

Mine was but I have a couple friends with them I can get discounts from. I've only seen them drop it below $170 like twice ever though and only for a few days.

Oh yeah but you can't even tell by building in it. If not for a firewire port, non modular drive bays, and a lol worthy "FERMI READY" label on something in the box you'd never know. It was very ahead of it's time like the 800D it competed with but half the price :)

Seriously one of the best cases I have ever worked in, and with building being my second part time job I have worked in almost all the big sellers. Other than being $40 too high these days imho, I can't say anything bad about it.

The HAF X is probably still the case with the best GPU temperatures thanks to that huge side intake fan. Now I think the HAF's are ugly as hell, but I can admit to really wanting a HAF 922 a while back (I ended up coming to my senses and buying the much better looking and more versatile Enthoo Pro though).
