Only 30HZ at 4K but I still picked it up.  209 for 4K is freggin unbeatable.  This is after using a visa card for $25 off and Free shipping.  It will STILL do 1080p @ 120Hz.  Which is why I chose it over an actual 1080p panel at this price point: most 1080p economy TVs are only 60Hz.  I'll play games in 1080p and use the desktop in 4K.

Gonna be a holdover until I can get a high-end 4K display.  (And upgrade my computer since I currently can't handle 4K gaming LOL)

30hz is disgusting...

for desktop and reading stuff its fine, but not gaming...

How does it go from 4K 30hz to 1080p 120hz, I fail to see the connection.

Because it HAS to be able to accept that much data since it has to be able to display 4K content.  The framerate limitations on TVs are based on the amount of data they can accept.  The bottleneck on this TV is HDMI 1.4 which can only transmit 30 Frames of 4K content a second.  But thats equivalent to 120 frames of 1080p content.  So the TV can display 120Hz of a native 1080p source.  

Since economy 1080p TVs are barebones, they dont need to be able to display more than 60 frames of 1080p content.  So they are equipped with HDMI 1.1 and limited to 60Hz @ 1080p.

I should also mention the second limiting factor is the refresh rate of the screen itself, which is 120Hz on this TV.  It only displays 30Hz at 4K because of the aforementioned HDMI 1.4.  So that means a 240Hz 720p signal would be limited to 120 frames per second on this monitor.

You do know that's not how it works, TV refresh rates don't work like that the number they say it is is utter poppycock 99% of the time, that thing is made by a brand no one has heard of so its quality control is probably next to none, and good luck using it as a monitor, screen burn in will kill it and the latency is probably over 50 milliseconds.

Except I already did my homework and validated that the TV will display 120Hz at 1080p.  Here is a refresh rate test for this screen at 120Hz to show it can display 120Hz without dropping frames.

And it has a one year warranty and Im just looking for a holdout to upgrade my computer and then get a high end (hopefully 120Hz by then) 4K display.  So Im not worried about longevity.  After that it will become my tailgating TV.

Nice try to degrade someone's choices just because you disagree with their preferences.  But if you expected more from a $200 4K display, you are an idiot.

eh even a 1080p tv for $200 is pretty decent.  4k, and a bonus 1080p 120hz(especially if a computer recognizes more than 60hz) is a great deal

Yeah and you can play 1440p at 60Hz.  I was looking at a $240 Toshiba '42 1080p TV on bestbuy before I saw this.
