What do you consider "too hot"? And do you have overclocks? Have you tried reseating the cooler? Have you switched the thermal paste? Have you tried a different cooler?

Well it's normal for an AMD chip.

Nah, I kid.

Anyways, how hot is it exactly?

was using a hyper 212 but it was way to hot in aus to even bother using air cooling so switched to water cooling, not overclocking  and my cpu reaches like 65 - 66 degrees and if im not mistaken the fx 8350  cpu's safest temp to run it at is 65 according to amd

Bro CPU's can hit 85 Celsius for hours on end and be fine, your misinformed.

You sure youre reading the cpu temp? Im using coretemp to read my cpu temp, speed fan reads a mobo temp sensor.

Currently my board is at 60 degC but CPU at 46, this is with 970 extreme3 and fx8150.

That might be your problem because your board has the 4+1 phase vrm, shit gets hot.

And amd bulldozer max core temp is 65 deg C. mine throttles itself at 70.

No, that's only for intel CPUs

AMD CPUs have a maximum recommended core temp of 62 degrees C

you're the one who is misinformed xD

xD, then again I haven't had to check up on the specs of any new cpu they made for the past 3 years.

Because they didn't.

That's a little toasty for a liquid cooler, especially if you're not overclocked, albeit AMD CPUs always run hotter. Definitely not harmful (AMD says the max is 60 something but I've had mine hit 70 and be perfectly fine) however maybe try checking thermal paste and making sure the cooler is mounted correctly.

Oh your fine mate. Those are good temps. Only when it gets towards the 55's or 60's is when you should be scared. But a good 40C looks fine to me.

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER STOP LEARNING. DONT LET THE PAST HURT YOU. YOU CAN DOOOOO IT
