Apple may remove headphone jack on next iPhone (Oh hi there Android!)

Apple is planning to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack on the next-generation iPhone in favor of an all-in-one Lightning connector, according to often-reliable Japanese websiteMac Otakara. Apple may also release Lightning-equipped EarPods to support the new audio output on future iOS devices.

 

Don't do this Apple...

 

Oh and I wonder about Macs then. Will my next Mac come with a lightning port to connect headphones? Totally ridiculous.

but honestly this is a smart move from apple.

you will get MARGINALLY! better sound quality 

and be able to DRAIN your phone's battery to power them beefy headphones.

I used to like Apple and still do but they just look like a desperate company making a quick buck. Want an example? the 5200rpm HDD in the iMacs and the fusion drive being nerfed from 128GB SSD to something like 32GB.

Arguably getting an NVME SSD inside the iPhone was pretty innovative or being the first to implement a 64 bit SOC...

Apple are innovative but people ignore it cause they do stupid crap like this.

But this is how Apple works. They force some sort of innovation even if it seems stupid (or is stupid) and because they have a gigantic following, other companies are sort of forced to tag along with whatever Apple does. And Apple fans will completely accept this.

I swear, Ive tolerated Apple's nonsense for awhile, but if that were actually the case, they'd honestly hurt their own sale. Sure, for a laptop that not as many people buy, people wont mind buying the adapter for the Type-C stuff, but for the iPhone which has such a wider audience, people would probably draw the line there.
