So im not sure how many people shop at the tigerdirect stores or even online but they have sold them selfs for 14 million in cash... so maybe that means that tigerdirect.com will also go? who knows its not clear but still... a pc company that has survived since 1987 and that bought failures like compusa and circuit city... it did pretty good tho it does suck that 241 workers will be laid off.

Holy shit. $14M is fucking bad, for ANY retailer the size of them.

I get the feeling there is a lot of debt involved and I would wager a lot of the shares were already in the purchaser's hands.

 

I do wonder at the future of the brand though, I never found the best deals there, and their website design was bleh. It seemed like they were never really trying to compete with their biggest foes on price or selection. The brand would make a great boutique sub-brand for the likes of Amazon. And at that price its a drop in the bucket.

Yeah, the majority of tigerdirect retail stores still around are scattered around western and south Florida.

i Think they closed almost all Expect 3 in Florida earlier in the year.

At one point they did. They had more than 3 stores in Illinois from what I remember, but they closed all of the stores except for like 3 across the entire country because they kept losing money. There stuff was kinda shady though. *cough*McCaffree bundles*cough*

There was one here in Tampa. I even bought some of my current PC parts from there too. The store closed down last year I believe. Really miss it.
