Building First PC!

So to be honest this is not my build as i have built some PC's in the past but my friend is building and i have to make sure he has everything. 

 

this is what he is getting: 

RAM:

Corsair Vengeance Black LP 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

 

GPU:

MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING TWIN FROZR V OC 4GB GDDR5

 

CPU:

4th Generation Intel® Core™ i5 4690 3.50GHz Socket LGA1150

 

Motherboard:

MSI Z97A Gaming 6 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) ATX Motherboard

 

HDD:

Seagate Barracuda 1TB 64MB Cache Hard Drive SATA 6GB/s 8.5ms 7200rpm - OEM

 

Power Suply:

Corsair CX Series CX600M ATX Power Supply

 

OS:

Windows 10 Home 32-bit/64-bit English USB - Retail

 

Case:

Aerocool GT-S 20 cm Full Tower Gaming Case with LED Fan and 2x USB 3 Side Window - White

 

think this is everything, but can you guys check it over so we don't fuck it up

I'd get the I5 4670K and then the hyper 212 evo. Then you can do some decent overclocking!

the i5-4670K is outdated, get a 4690K then, but it's more expensive, and the i5-4590 is still a great CPU

Looks like a decent rig, I'd add a SSD if the budget allow's it and personally would go with a different PSU. Something like a Seasonic, XFX TS line or EVGA Supernova's there is nothing wrong with that one though 

 

Also I agree with the above that you should that get the 4690k over the non unlocked version

Why not an R9 390 instead of a GTX 970? Twice the VRAM and same performance,

If you're not overclocking get a cheaper motherboard and get a 4460.

yes, but the i5-4590 is 10$ more and 300 Mhz higher boost clock

i agree, no CX PSU, those are for non gpu systems

Get an SSD for OS, a better PSU, and a i5 4690k to overclock. or get H97 motherboard and save some money

Change the mobo for that CPU, and with that money get a better PSU like an EVGA SuperNova

Either get a 4690k+ Cryorig H7 and overclock, or get a H97+i5 4460/4690 and dont overclock. Get a better PSU like one from SeaSonic,Super Flower, EVGA's GS/GQ/G2/B2 series or Cooler Master's V/VSM series. Oh, and get a 390 from Sapphire or MSI, unless you NEED nvidia-only features like GameStream or CUDA
