Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Clearly drones are to blame here, and not human stupidity. Ban drones! [/sarcasm]

 

It's kinda funny how stupid people are. You'd think there would be enough common sense to not fly drones into children's eyes, or to fly near emergency vehicles, or to invade people's privacy etc etc. Like everything, it only take a few idiots to spoil it for everybody else. Which is why drones will be heavily regulated, people are too dumb to figure out the rules for themselves.

this is why alot of drones have prop shields. maybe it should be required that amateur drones must have a certain level of prop shielding,

 

i say amateur because bigger drones are more like helicopters (and also dont want the extra weight), people shouldn't be getting near and the pilot should be of a higher skill, maybe require a license for them.

I would like to know the whereabouts of the child. He must have been in close enough proximity to the drone for no one to preemptively protect him.

What I want to know is why was he flying so close to trees, surely with any rotary powered flying device you stay well clear of anything that can clip your blades.

 

I might get slack for this but as more and more quadcopters are been flown surely a flying course is needed to see pilot is competent enough to own one.

Indeed, flying in the vicinity of children, not being competent enough to control the drone (presumably a novice), and flying near trees. Least you could do when using a drone, is fly it in a secluded area till at least you have the basic controls down.

They'd be more effective with multiple sniper rifles attached. Less likely to cause collateral damage, and more likely to scare the piss out of the enemy.

 

Or combine the two, for when they realize what's happening and try to hide.

 

I'm glad that you accepted that they're a necessary evil and much better than your previous "Fucking nuke em" approach  ^_^

I feel sorrow for the child.

I feel somewhat bad for the operator but he should have taken better precautions, it should be obvious this type of hobby can be dangerous BUT this why we have Darwin Awards.

I don't see why drones are such a big deal we have had RC cars since the 80s and 90s look a land vehicle that destroyed a grown mans leg, yet nothing happens with speed limiters or laws.
