Nvidia GTX 980Ti SEAHAWK versus SLI EVGA 980's

Go to solution Solved by SeanAngelo,

I'm building a computer for Star Citizen and i was wondering if the SEAHAWK 980Ti made by Corsair and MSI with 6Gb would be better then having 2 EVGA superclocked 980's (8Gb). I'm considering price and performance.

for performance, 2 980's is better than a single 980Ti.

and VRAM does not stack in SLI.... it's 4gb

I'd go single 980Ti then add another later on = more performance than 2 980's.

2x 980 will outperform single 980ti. HOWEVER ... if the game has poor SLI support you will have to play with only one card.

I have no idea how well does Star Citizen work with SLI.

One 980 Ti is better in terms of price/performance. It has 6GB of VRAM vs 4GB for the 980 and is far more "future-proof" thanks to that.

In the future, you could always pick up another 980 Ti when one no longer cuts it.

Performance expert, building noob.

There is no such thing as excess in hardware.
