How do I extend local disk c?

Hi, I made a partition when I first insatlled everything and left disk c with space for system files (I have 200gb on the other aprtition, there I have everything else), bu t now some programs an updates need to be installed on the local disk c  and theres not enough space, how can this be solved? It wont let me expand it, will I have to format it?

Thx in advanced  :).

If I'm understanding this correctly, you will need to shrink the other partition in order to extend the C: partition.

Ive tried, but if i shrink the other partition (d) the free space can only be added to d, it wont let me expand c

Are these partitions on the same drive or separate drives?

"Partitions in windows are created sequentially on the disk.  So in order to expand the C, you have to remove the D.  This is because the start of the D is at the end of the C.  So if you shrink the D, it only takes off space from the back of the D, it doesn't make room between the D and the C." I was told this, but If I remove the D wont I lose everything?

Are you using the integrated tool in Windows or another program?

Would you be willing to use MiniTool Partition Wizard(free)? I've had better luck with it and in my view it's a better program to use. It also allows you to mess around without making any actual changes to the system.

Thx, i was looking for it, ive installed it

Launch it and once you've done that, look for your drive.

For me, this is what my set up looks like with my SSD at the top of the list.

As I said before, you can make "changes" to the system before actually applying them, which is kind of nice.
