Was looking for suggestions and alternatives as a final thought before buying.

Go to the shop / website and buy it?

Honestly unless you particularly need the "slimness" or "aesthetics" you can get a better laptop that does not thermal throttle under heavy loads from Clevo that would cost less money

Where are you from? that might help :P

There are other slim light laptops worth checking out too :)

Not to say there is anything wrong with Aorus, but your location and budget always helps people recommend laptops

Sorry for not having mentioned this before

I'm from India. But I have a cousins returning from US who will bring it to me. (My money though  :P )

And I'm looking forward to mostly order it online to his address. But don't know proper website(that Aorus is available) to do so.

My budget goes as high as 2600 USD.

Please suggest any others that could fit my purpose. (Portability with lots of power)

If you want superthin, super light laptops, you sacrifice power and cooling. It's the laws of physics.

While they will avoid thermal throttle, the CPU power isn't all that great (especially compared to what one could find two years ago) but the P6xxRx series from Clevo would be the best choice for portable but powerful. If battery life however is not any concern, I *HIGHLY* suggest considering "grin and bear it" tactics and getting a larger model like the P7xxDM models (also from Clevo). It's going to be closer to about 8 or 9 pounds in weight (depending on 15" or 17") and maybe 2 inches thick (with lid closed), 1.5" thick when lid is open.

Those models use desktop processors and have sufficient power bricks to handle what their demands are.

If you don't wish to get those, then a P650RG or P670RG would be your best choice, as they're the lighter models with the weaker mobile CPUs. The 6820HK might help this if it's overclocked to a decent speed up from its pitiful 3.2GHz 4-core turbo default status. Please note: no HQ chip from Skylake can adjust its turbo multipliers beyond its default. Only the HK chip can. This means the Skylake HQ i7 chips are 3.1GHz (6700HQ), 3.2GHz (6820HQ) and 3.4GHz (6920HQ) under 4-core load and can never go above those numbers (hence my recommendation of the HK chip for your performance-driven environment).

Now, whichever one you choose, this is important. The BEST places to buy them from are Eurocom or Mythlogic, as they are partnered with a professional BIOS modder named Prema. Your systems will be unlocked and you will have full control over your hardware, unlike buying it from other companies.

Eurocom does not sell the P670Rx models, only the P650Rx. They sell both the P750DM and P770DM however. Mythlogic sells all four model ranges, and may even be a better choice to go with price-wise. But it's up to you to decide.

From Eurocom, the Sky X4 and Sky X6 are the P750DM and P770DM respectively. The Sky MX5 is the P650Rx (the GPU determines the last letter; A for 965M, E for 970M and G for 980M).

From Mythlogic, the Dia 1615S and 1715S are the P650Rx and P670Rx respectively. The Deimos 1615S and Phobos 1715S are the P750DM and P770DM respectively.

I would not suggest any machine thinner than the P6xxRx models for what your workload is, or regardless of manufacturer chosen, you may very well run into situations where your laptop either overheats or power throttles (depending on manufacturer) or both in your desired workloads. EVEN IF YOU CHOOSE ANOTHER MANUFACTURER (which I don't recommend), try to get a machine of similar size and weight to the P6xxRx models, to be sure it will handle the heavy workloads you want to put in. Also, avoid the Gigabyte P55 machine. It may be big, but it cools its CPU worse than the P6xxRx models despite being a bit bigger/heavier, so it's just a waste of money in comparison.

Since the models listed are somewhat free in your budget, I would suggest the HGST Travelstar 7K1000 1TB 7200RPM HDD for storage, and either Crucial MX200 or Samsung 850 Pro drives for SSD storage. The MX200 and 850 Pro I suggest for their MLC properties, so that they last as long as possible regardless of any demanding situation you put them into, as well as their sustained performance under long load times (sustained writes/copies/etc).

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
