WTF is... Star Wars: Battlefront? (TB)

Techicolors

TB posted his first WTF... in a while now. and look, it's battlefront!

I'll give a tl;dw: he hates the game. he praises the graphics, the great pc port, and sound production but everything else is terrible. little to no variety, little to no customization, unbalanced and unsatisfying gunplay (however he understands how difficult it may be to simulate blaster weapons), no real strategy/teamwork, too little maps, season pass paywall, the bulk of multiplayer modes get substantially dull after a while, progression is nonexistent, no campaign.

I just make pew pew noises in my head, explosion sounds whenever something explodes, and swoosh sounds whenever I use a light saber. Makes everything 10x better.

Question to @ShadowCaptain does it not have a game mode akin to conquest from the original battlefronts (and battlefield), where you capture command posts, because I didn't see on in the WTF

NVM he finally mentioned it.

This game seems like a new "Call of Duty" to me, and I don't mean that it plays or looks like Call of Duty, but the way CoD4/WaW/Mw2 used to feel to me, that's what Battlefront feels like.

Basic custom loadout, three perk options, random powerups(killstreaks), drop in/drop out matchmaking system that's ease of use and tons of fun. It's a simplistic multiplayer shooter with a Star Wars theme and some appearance options.

Maybe it's because I didn't expect anything to come from this than a broken shooter and I was pleasantly surprised. Though the one thing I do agree with TB is that I also don't think what's available is worth $60, I'd be more comfortable spending $30 and maybe $20 on the Season Pass, so I'll probably wait for a BF+Season Pass deal for $30-$40 total.

I think TB expected way too much from this release.

Its aimed at everyone , mostly casuals, they think its normal to pay so much for the game, only gamers complain (IMO)

and its starwars, there hasnt been a good starwars game , in how much? 10 years?

It's fun for maybe an hour or two. Obvious rushed cash grab trying to benefit from the hype of new star wars movies coming out.

At least it performs well and looks absolutely goregeous.  Sure as hell won't pay $40+ for it, but it's a game I'll watch out for if they decide to add worthwhile content.

The rush is obvious, just look at the amount of content.  The DLC's better be huge, otherwise no one's gonna bother.
