ok first of im not a retard, i know i have a 1x8GB of hyperX red memory in it but when i look for another stick of it there are several options, the difference is the speed of the RAM and i want an identical stick so there are no hiccups with it being slightly different so how to i check what speed and other stuff about the ram? also if your wondering i did look on the stick itself(my pc has no side panel so i just looked in whilst typing this :P)and the very small sticker on the ram said nothing about how fast it was so i have no clue were to look next, thanks for any replies and any help i get :)

Sorry, misinterpreted your question. Open up Task Manager and select Performance, then click on Memory and it'll tell you all you need to know about your RAM.

you could always check in your BIOS. usually you can find the speed it's running at in there somewhere.

i cheked the about tab in the settings and it just said 8GB of memory insralled

wow just rememberd i havent installed that after upgrading to WIN10 xD had it whilst running win7 but then i formated and forgot about it

I use SiSoft SANDRA it tells you all you need to know and it's free (no doubt there are other software solutions [both paid and free] outthere).

well, CPU-Z is one of those utilities that is always good to have. I for one use it and the GPU-Z to see how my stuff is actually doing when OCing.

ehhh acording to CPU-Z the ram is a: khx1866c10d3/8g, problem is that it dosent seem to exist. so what the fucking shit do i do now because the speed CPU-Z tells me the ram has is 889MHz, a strangely slow speed as i have seen it go way faster then that so what the hell is CPU-Z doing... plz help with this...

CPU-Z or Speccy. Both are good choices. In CPU-Z (not sure about speccy) double the speed it tells you, because DDR=DoubleDataRate

Unfortunately most people on here don't know nearly as much as they should to provide people with help. You can find your rams timings inCPU-Z as well, which you should shop for ram with the same timings for maximum comparability.

Unfortunately most people on here don't know nearly as much as they should to provide people with help. You can find your rams timings inCPU-Z as well, which you should shop for ram with the same timings for maximum comparability.

oh ok that would have been good to know too, im looking for an identical stick so i think the 1866MHz is the one i should get then because the number i get in CPU-Z is 931.2MHz and the 1866MHz says 10clocks and it does in CPU-Z too

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

well im happy that i got this solved, now i just have to look for the cheapest place to get it and im set! thanks a LOT for your help

like that in the red color, how did you find that and is that the right one? because that would be awesome

i just copied  khx1866c10d3/8g and pasted it into google and that came up on amazon so im assuming it most likely is
