2x2 HDMI Matrix

JHyunS06

Hi everyone,

I have a question about playing around with multiple input source and output source.

So I have one Macbook Pro Retina and one Desktop.

Both are capable of doing HDMI output.

I also have one LG Ultrawide monitor that accepts HDMI input natively.

I am going to buy same monitor soon, ( which is tomorrow ) and want to be able to run  dual monitor setup.

However, I want the desktop to be extended.

Is it possible to have them do that by using HDMI 2x2 matrix?

Here are possible usage of this setup.

i) Both displaying output from desktop. ( WIndows OS, extended desktop. )

ii) Each display displaying each OS. ( One is displaying Mac OS and another one is displaying Windows OS.

iii) Both displaying Mac OS. ( From my Macbook, also extended desktop. )

I already have HDMI 2x2 matrix but only have one native HDMI monitor.

I was trying to run HDMI to DVI cable to one of my old Samsung monitor, and extended display never work. ( In fact, only one display works if I want to have both displaying same OS. Or it will just be mirrored. )

Would it be because they have different resolution? ( Or ratio? )

Thanks for the help and any suggestion in this setup would be greatly appreciated!
