What's a solid WiFi router for my parents?

Even being in IT, it'd hard and frustrating to keep up with the market, especially WiFi technology since I have everything in my house wired gigabit but my parents new home won't have that option due to costs.

They have low needs, mostly I want a router with a strong signal for AC for their Samsung S5 phones and N wifi for my mom's iPad 2 and older laptop. They are mostly Web browsing and streaming some Netflix and youtube.

Can anyone suggest a solid router with a good track record I can get for them? I really don't wanna play the troubleshooting and exchange game with a crappy router. I picked up a Netgear x4 Nighthawk for black Friday for $150 but the review arnt real good so I may return it.

Can't see what is wrong with a Night Hawk but an OnHub is great and linus did a video on it I believe. $150+ is probably way overkill for what they will be doing though.
