Mouse is scratching mouse pad

So I have a Razer Naga Epic Chroma and a Perixx DX-5000 hard mousepad and for some reason, I occasionally get some resistance when moving the Naga, that feels like something is grinding between the mouse and mousepad. Next thing I know there are noticeable scratch marks on the pad and this only just started happening.

 

Any ideas on what is happening and why?

Impossible to tell without being there.

Maybe consider trying a cloth mouse mat instead?

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

How are the feet on your Razer Naga? There might be some sharp plastic piece sticking out or the protective things on the button are not amazing anymore

Any ideas on what is happening and why?

Check the pads on the bottom and look for any sharp obvious edges! If the pads are worn badly then order some new ones from Razer! Any dirt or grit or even dust can cause scratches! Maybe a clother pad already suggest if any of the obove does not work!!!

Some of razer's mouse has plastic bottom's. For example the ouroboros or something like that. Their build quality for the feet is pretty mediocre. I suggest something to keep the plastic from peeling(taping?)

Specs: i7-4790k with Thermaltake Water 3.0, EVGA GTX 970, MSI Z97 Gaming 3, Kingston HyperX 2x8 DDR3 1600Mhz, SSD Boot Drive/1TB HD, CM Storm Stryker, EVGA Supernova G2 750W

Peripherals: SS Rival, HyperX Cloud, G710+

+1, I have a OCK MASS HEAVY and its a great size pad and really improved my game I have to say!!!

That's just the downside of hard pads. They cause wear and tear easily. You pretty much have to keep cleaning both the pad and mouse feet daily.
