DDR4 Memory issue

ANDi206

CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB)

Hi guys

I purchased this memory kit and one of the two is acting weird, so i did this:

1- I put it in the recommended slot for my mobo and it didn't show up in the bios

2-I took it off and placed it again and it worked but it shows 4GB instead of 8GB!

3-tried step two again and it worked with full 8GB

4-started windows and everything was fine and after 10 minutes I found 4gigs missing again

5-restarted the system and it couldn't start windows....

6-placed the weird stick in different slots and still having issuses

7- took it of the system and everything is fine

now the questions part:

A-is the memory band and need to be replaced?

B-if not, can it be fixed?

C-How can I fix it?

D-Please feel free to say or add anything cuz anything will help :)

thanks for taking the time

are you putting them in properly?

you need to push vertically downward on the ram, and let the holding clips snap closed by themselves without you touching them

I cant imagine that the ram going missing while its a live system would behave very well... Even a virtual machine cant hot remove ram... well.. in my experience with VMware running windows at least.

might be an obvious... but you do have a 64-bit operating system installed yeah?

Have you updated your motherboard BIOS to the latest version? this is always the first thing to try when encountering memory incompatibility issues.

lastly, do you have a friend who has a compatible board you can test the ram in?
