Hey guys and gals, I have a pretty out-there question about a water cooling loop I want to try out. It's actually not a true cooling loop, as it isn't cooling anything!

It'll be a pump, a reservoir, and a butt-load of tubing. I want to have this set up on my wall and string the tubing in all sorts of designs. Figured I'd use 5/8"od--1/2"id clear plastic tubing.

Then,  I want to run some of the Aurora fluid through the loop continuously. I'd expect it to last about 3 yrs before something could be expected to need maintenance, but I know that getting into it.

Does anyone have experience doing anything nuts like this? How should I gauge what strength pump and size res to use?? Thanks in advance for your help.

Aurora

If it is not cooling anything then the size of the res would not matter. (though I suggest this one because it looks awesome http://www.frozenqshop.com/) As for the pump I would suggest D5 pump this one is cool because it is clear http://www.frozencpu.com/products/26069/ex-pmp-351/Alphacool_VPP655_PWM_Pump_-_HF_Top_Edition_-_Plexi_13174.html?tl=g30c107s1802#blank

from their website: http://www.mayhems.co.uk/mayhems/index.php/products/specialist-coolants/mayhems-aurora

Aurora is "NOT" made for use in a home system. It has been developed for show System's (modding) and Photo work. If looking for a fluid for a Home system / Gaming system please use Mayhems X1 or Mayhems Pastel range of fluids there are fully tested and working in any kind of loop.

tubing wise, the thicker walled for external is a blessing to guard against

accidental puncture. the 3/8"x5/8" would be better protection. pump should

be a Laing D5 variant (long distance feeds) and possibly 2x for redundancy.

reservoir is an aesthetic choice.

You'll need probably 2 pumps in series and a gallon of fluid for 100 feet.  Going to take forever to fill if you use a small reservoir.

Also you'll be spending a lot for that much tubing cause plasticizer will ruin the display.

Thanks for your advice, all.

The tubing may be shielded by some glass panels (like a picture frame) so I'm not too worried about puncturing. And in response to airdeano's comment about how Aurora is just for show systems, this is going to be exclusively for show.

I love the LF Reaction Dual Bay Reservoir Trey222 recommended, however I'll be hiding the res in a little cabinet I'll build, so maybe using something more like this?

Does anyone have recommendations for quiet powerful pumps I could run in series which are rated for continuous operation?
