Why are games from steam disappearing...?

Valve seems to remove, not only old titles, but new as well...

You can no longer buy Fallout 3, Mafia 2, Enemy Within, Doom 3, Darksiders 2, Divinity Original Sin...and a lot more...

 

They also would be better off returning old titles back from 2000s. 

 

It DOES NOT matter that they do not support W7 or later. That's why there are "virtual machines" just for that purpose.

Games fall out of license and Valve can no longer sell them legally.

its generally due to licensing issues and they usually end up reappearing.

Mafia 2 is no longer available for sale as they didn't renew the license for the in-game music

All of those games are available for me, except for Mafia 2, but I can still download it

Well Darksiders 2 was because of the developers. When they brought out Deathinitive Edition they removed the original base game. This is much like Sleeping Dogs can no longer be purchased, you must purchase the Definitive Edition.
