Is free-sync worth it?

I am looking for 144hz monitors and I saw an AOC G2460PF Black 24" 144hz(free-sync enabled) for $250 and an ASUS VG248QE (no free-sync) for $200. Is free-sync worth the extra $50? An help is appreciated :D

Free-sync will only work if you have a supported AMD GPU. Which brings up the question, what GPU do you have?
