I have around £300 for some PC upgrades. I want to get an i5 4690k to replace my g3258 (is that a good option) but I also need to upgrade my motherboard to allow overclocking.

However I also am in desperate need of some headphones so I need to get the ath m50x's.

Should I get the cpu and headphones now and wait until I have more money for the motherboard whilst running the cpu at stock or get a cheaper cpu or motherboard?
