Good replacement laptops/convertible tablets that fit these preferences?

My Mum has decided that her ultrabook (https://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks/U38N/) needs replacing ASAP as her new Samsung Galaxy Tab S is a lot faster than it, and the ultrabook is playing up (I know for a fact that the wifi is pretty much dead). What are some recommendations, with a touch screen being necessary, and a convertible such as the Transformer Prime TF201?

Please note that it must perform better than the U38N, HP Pavilion DV6 (with Phenom II N970) and HP Touchsmart TM2 with a first gen ULV i5 (both older HP laptops outclass the U38N in performance due to its shitty A8 4555M which is worse than a Phenom II P920 in every single way).

 

Side note: NO budget has been mentioned as of yet.

I want to recommend the T420 so bad because it isn't a potato, but it lacks a touch screen. But otherwise it isn't a potato.

 

ugh, really wish I was more familiar with laptops now.

At the moment if it was possible, I'd just install the touchscreen in the DV6 (its motherboard has a connector for one).

The T420 is 14", so unless you end up getting a T520 (which is 15.6") instead it won't fit.

Its ok. That potato (the ultrabook) and the HP Pavilion are the best laptops I've had experience with-and that's not saying much since both are worth around $400-$500 when compared to the latest laptops..
