Headphones Comparison? What's best?

Looking for some new cans. Been suggested the Philips SHP9500, Audio Technica ATH-M50X (don't suggest the m40x I have money) and the

Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO. I don't mind open or closed.

Which ones are better?

Can you suggest better ones?

I listen to deep house music so I need some bass but also nice crisp highs are also nice too!

DT-990' s have some nice highs and good bass for open-backed headphones.

EDIT: The step to DT-990' s is worth it.

I don't know about the rest but I own the ATX M50X and whilst they can certainly pull some v nice bass they are flat reference monitors meaning you won't get as much bass if you did want a more bass inclined set

Is the bass a low, deep bass that's pretty prominent from the m50x?

I don't have an amp so won't be able to power the DT990, are they a step up from the m50x in terms of bass?

DT-990' s come in 32, 250, and 600 OHM variants. The 32 OHM variant does not require a dedicated amplifier and can be run from a standard MP3 player/iPod/phone/etc...

And do they have more prominent low bass than the m50x's?

Fairly. They are well worth their price.

No. They have punch, not rumble, due to a large peak in the upper bass and strong rolloff.

Ah so the m50x would be the option then? I know the 40x is practically the same but....

You said you have the money for the M50x, what kind of maximum budget are we talking about, specifically?
