[US-Newegg] Holy freaking balls CX PSU 650w $30

guitarboy012001

Dayum even though the cx psu's are kinda not performance oriented, you can get a 430 watt psu for $20 for a cheap budget build. I think freaking awesome. I can't really recommend the 650 watt psu if you will actually use that much wattage in a build, but still.....

I've heard a lot about the cx series blowing up/stop working.

All ive ever heard about them is this forum Shitting all over them always but never seen anyone with a first hand experience of one blowing up on here. They are more of a  budget power supply so they don't perform like a $100+ dollar one does and doesn't have the same Reliability as one either but i feel like that's just expected you buy a power supply half the price of another its not going to be as good otherwise why would the high end ones exist? there good for cheaper builds where its budget price equally matches your budget build  the higher end the build gets upgrade all parts equally so don't put one in a $2000 dollar build.

I was reading through the newegg reviews and a guy said he was woken by his CX650w psu in his case smoking/starting to burn.

Just FYI, its $35 after rebate pretty often. Was $25 after a $20 rebate only two weeks ago.

Not bad for a budget build. But you're better off with a seasonic.

As a person who's been using a CX750M with a 980 Ti for quite some time, they're fine so long as you don't live in a hot area.

Performance expert, building noob.

There is no such thing as excess in hardware.
