Best drive cloning software?

aeroencychris

Hi,

I have a dedicated laptop set up as a DLNA music server around the house, with a separate drive hooked up to it with all the music on it. I would like to add 1 or 2 backup drives incase one fails so that I don't lose my entire music library. What's a good, free drive cloning software for Windows? I don't need anything fancy, just a basic "clone drive A to drive B and 2am" type of program.

Thanks,

-Chris

I've used Macrium Reflect to clone Windows 8.1 from a 40GB SSD to a 120GB SSD with no issues. I also cloned the data from my 1TB hard drive to my new 3TB hard drive using Macrium Reflect with, again, no issues.

I'd recommend using that software.

Which reminds me, I need to update my sig...

Alright, I'll try Reflect and then SyncToy if that doesn't work. Thanks.

Try Clonezilla or EaseUS todo backup.

Clonezilla is the other free offline software that stands out to me. Although it can be complicated upon first use it is a very good program and probably the most popular offline free drive imaging application.

EaseUS todo backup is my personal favorite of the bunch, it allows you do perform a lot of tasks at once.
