I have an i3 4330 and a gtx 750 1gb in my system right now. Should i buy a i7 4790k or an gtx 970? Even when i can get a good deal on the 970?

Do you actually need the hyperthreading from the i7? Cuz if you just plan on gaming and no video editing, rendering, or streaming, an i5 will do you whole bunches of good.

and when the time comes the cpu

 

and... get 390 not 970

R9 390 > 970 > 380X > 380 >> 960

They are almost the same, but the Nitro 390 which is the best 390 is much cheaper than the best 970s.

I would suggest the 4690k for only $50 more than the 4460. This cpu will perform for many years to come, at least for gaming.

I would suggest a 970 though, it's a good card. Don't get a 980 unless you're getting a 980ti though.

Major titles this year has not been kind to amd. What with gta5 and arkham knight tends to favor nvidia cards, on launch till a few weeks after launch. I dont see anything wrong with the cards, actually. Just support for it may not be as good as you like.

Have you checked the benchmarks after Crimson released? Obviously not, let me know it you need a link.
